Ahoy: Brand strategy, identity, digital design

Ahoy Floats are a new startup company offering an exciting new range of standout inflatables that add fun and colour to any pool, beach, river or lake. Their unique collection of high-quality inflatables are designed to stand out from the crowd and raise a smile with a focus on offering floats that are unique and fun designs that are not available from other competitors. Ahoy approached Boldfish seeking a new brand identity and marketing communication design support to help them launch their products to market.
Discovery
- Meeting with the company founders we learned they were after a brand identity that captured the playful, unique and fun aspects of their product designs
- Campaign strategy and marketing support was also required to help build brand awareness campaigns in both digital and print environments
- It was important the brand identity design was flexible and worked responsively across a variety of proportions and sizes online and in print
Strategy
- The logo identity consisted of fun, playful typography that looked like floats on the water
- Strong colourful palettes and patterns were introduced to present the products as a party/gift type look and feel
- Photographic assets included happy people enjoying the product with some whacky, fun pictures that would represent the types of photos people would share on social media like Instagram.
- We created the name Ahoy as it was short, nautical, loud and engaging. The slogan ‘All Aboard’ was also created as a nautical call to action and join in on the fun
