Lyndale: Brand identity design / marketing campaigns

Client

Lyndale Secondary College is one of the largest schools in Victoria with an enrolment of approximately 920 students making a culturally diverse learning community. After some significant building renovations, Lyndale Secondary College contacted Boldfish to help create a new fresh identity for the school that complemented the new modern facilities, communicated the schools’ values and strengthen their overall brand story to help improve local and international student recruitment.

Discovery

  • The branding was inconsistently displayed from one touchpoint to another
  • The previous branding was very dated and needed a fresh rebrand
  • No formal brand guidelines were available and the brand lacked flexibility working responsively across a variety of proportions and sizes
  • Very limited brand assets and resources available

Strategy

  • Meeting various stakeholders (including staff and students) Boldfish discovered the school was very proud of its students, teachers, values, cultural diversity and community, educational programs and history including how a falcon lived in one of the original historic trees on the grounds.
  • Through our strategic process, a traditional crest solution that housed the falcon, heritage date and their values statement all together in one device quickly became the most popular brand identity solution.
  • We created comprehensive brand guidelines to help standardise new identity for the school and update numerous touch-points including their website, stationery, templates, signage, advertising and even uniforms.
  • Creating a new website site map that addressed some of the key navigation concerns and helped establish clear priorities with regards to content
  • Designing a new website focused on cultural diversity, well-being and successful education programs
  • Worked with our developer partners to build the website and provide all on-site training and documentation
