Client

Oral-B is an American brand of oral hygiene products, including toothpastes, toothbrushes, electric toothbrushes, and mouthwashes. The brand has been in business since 1950 and has been owned by American multinational Procter & Gamble (P&G) since 2006. Oral-B approached Boldfish seeking a local creative agency with brand management experience to help them with numerous local brand management requirements.

Discovery

  • We met with the marketing team who advised they had a lot of creative assets supplied from global HQ which had a lot of technical information but little creative campaign and asset creation support
  • Previous marketing campaigns focused solely on product features and benefits copy and lacked engaging creativity and a consistent brand presentation to market
  • Digital and print application examples were tired and lacked inspiration in design and brand consistency
  • Brand guidelines and logo assets were supplied but were limited and didn’t provide direction for many local branding requirements

Strategy

  • Bold campaign ideas that used more creative, high impact, engaging visuals and move away from the text-heavy/cluttered solutions of the past
  • Improving product hero imagery to be more vibrant, attractive and visible
  • Working towards more inspiring visually orientated solutions that focused on clarity, simplicity and cleanliness in both content and layout
  • Less reliant on large amounts of copy by distilling the bulk text information supplied down to a core headline, essential body copy and a clear call to action
